PRESS: CEO says Lukoil can get highly-watered field incentive later
MOSCOW, Dec 26 (PRIME) -- Russian oil company Lukoil has been promised that highly-watered oil deposits will receive a tax incentive after it proves to be effective for Rosneft’s Samotlor field, CEO Vagit Alekperov told business daily Kommersant in an interview released on Tuesday.
The State Duma, the parliament’s lower house, earlier adopted a bill stipulating tax deductions for the Samotlor field of Rosneft, as a result the annual decrease of the mineral extraction tax (MET) for the field can reach 35 billion rubles in 10 years.
“If there is effect, the approach will be extended to other fields. So we hope that Rosneft will show the effectiveness of the implementation of this law. It suits us that the experiment will be held on this unique field and we will be included at a later stage. These are the promises we have been given,” Alekperov said.
